Porcelain Inlays
If you have a large area of decay within your tooth, Dr. Bilow may use an inlay rather than a filling to restore it. Large fillings can shrink and put you at greater risk of further tooth breakage and/or tooth sensitivity. Inlays, on the hand, are a conservative tooth restoration. They require much less drilling and preparation of the tooth than a metal filling.
Inlays are created in a dental laboratory from an impression of your teeth. The final result will fit perfectly with surrounding teeth and can be as strong as a natural tooth. We make inlays of porcelain so that they are practically invisible—you’ll keep your wonderful, natural-looking smile.
